Homecoming 2022

Students and Families, 

We are excited to celebrate Ames High School’s Homecoming week September 26th – October 1st, 2022. This is a week to celebrate all things Ames High School and we look forward to some great events and celebrations throughout the week. We are sending out a calendar of events and homecoming dance procedures. Please take notice of important dates and information. 

Calendar of Events

  • Monday, September 26th: Homecoming Parade – 6:30 to 8:30. The parade will take place on main street in downtown Ames. 
  • Tuesday, September 27th: Homecoming Assembly – We will have our opening assembly during homeroom. Performing groups will perform and Homecoming Royalty finalists will be announced. 
  • Tuesday, September 27th: Movie night – we will be showing High School Musical out in the stadium starting at 7:30 PM. 
  • Wednesday September 28th: Sand Volleyball at Inis Grove Park starting at 7:00 PM. There will be a sign up during the homecoming week. Please sign up with the following link: Volleyball Tournament Sign-Up
  • Thursday, September 29th: Trivia night in the Media Center at 7:00 PM.  Please sign up with the following link: Trivia Night Sign-Up
  • Friday, September 30th: Homecoming Assembly during Homeroom. Homecoming Royalty will be announced. 
  • Friday, September 30th: Homecoming Football Game vs. Council Bluffs at 7:00 PM. 
  • Saturday, October 1st: Homecoming Dance at Ames High School. 8:00 – 10:30 PM. 

Dress Up Days

The following dress up days will be celebrated throughout the week and we hope to see as many students as possible dressed up. We will select random winners for candy prizes based on dress up days. 

  • Monday: Class Colors (Freshmen Yellow; Sophomores White; Juniors Red; Seniors Black)
  • Tuesday: Over the Top (Dress Like a Movie Star) 
  • Wednesday: Breakfast Club (Pajamas) 
  • Thursday: Throwback to Favorite Movie as a kid
  • Friday: Homecoming Game Day Shirts (Ames High Gear)

Homecoming Tickets

Homecoming tickets will go on sale starting Monday, September 26th, 2022. Tickets will be $10 per person. You must have a student ID to purchase a ticket. Tickets will be sold before and after school in the main lobby. Tickets will be sold during lunch on September 27th and September 28th. The last day to purchase tickets is going to be Friday, September 30th. No tickets will be sold at the door. 

If you are bringing a guest from outside of Ames High School. You must complete the Guest Form prior to Wednesday, September 28th. You can pick up the form in the main office and it needs to be turned into either the main office or student services.
